1.Draw the Design

The design is made to order.

2.Cut Paper Stencils

3.Make the original paste

[Material]Sticky rice/Powdered rice bran/salt/lime

4.Spread the Paste on the Stencil

5.Make color

[Material] Pigment/Fluid obtained by filtrating soybean soaked overnight and crushed

6.Paint the design to texture

7.Spread the Paste on the Paintings

Protect the design from indigo-dyeing

8.Ground Dyeing

9.Wash away the Paste

10.Dry Textile

Tailoring the cloth into MAIWAI

12.Completion of MAIWAI
